Use the curriculum’s course codes, credit values and syllabus pages to understand what you will study and how subjects connect.
The program and its curriculum
The official booklet identifies a four-year Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering for the 2023–2027 batch. It includes semester course tables, specialisation and elective lists, and detailed syllabi. This catalogue selects six courses from that source. It does not represent every course in the degree or the curriculum for a newer batch.
Reading a course entry
A code such as CSET489 identifies a course. Credits indicate its listed academic credit value. L-T-P records the lecture, tutorial and practical components in the source table. A prerequisite is a course or exposure requirement listed in the syllabus; a dash means the booklet does not specify one, rather than proof that no preparation is needed.
Core subjects and electives
The booklet places Computational Thinking and Programming in Semester I, Operating Systems in Semester IV and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Semester V, with a scheduling note for the AI specialisation. Information Retrieval and Search Engine appears in the AI specialisation electives. Advanced Database Management System appears in Data Science and Full Stack elective lists. Search Engine Optimization appears in the open-elective list.
How the selected subjects connect
Python programming provides a useful foundation for working with AI models. Operating Systems and advanced databases explore how computer resources and information are managed. Information Retrieval studies indexing and ranking; Search Engine Optimization examines how pages are organised, discovered and presented to search users. Related-course links are editorial suggestions, not additional prerequisites.
